ARTICLE

The label industry encompasses widely varying markets and production requirements, from premium labels with high-value-added finishes and pressure-sensitive labels produced at high speeds to smart labels featuring RFID technology. At LOUPE Americas 2026, LemuGroup will demonstrate its ability to address this diversity through a broad range of specialized solutions operating live throughout the show.

From September 15 to 17 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Chicago, visitors will have the opportunity to see technologies for digital finishing, die-cutting, automatic rewinding, RFID inlay insertion and inspection in action at LemuGroup´s booth 628. LemuGroup’s participation will offer attendees the chance to explore different label production solutions and discuss their specific converting requirements with the company’s technical and sales specialists.

Three live demonstrations at booth 628

At booth 628, LemuGroup will present three live production demonstrations built around four complementary technologies: the MI 350 Inkjet Digital, the modular BOSS finishing line paired with the GTU-26 automatic turret rewinder and the RDX RFID Inserter. Together, they address several of the areas with the greatest growth potential in today’s label market: digital embellishment, efficient single-pass finishing, automated roll production and RFID-enabled labels.

The MI 350 Inkjet Digital is designed to create high-impact digital embellishments. Its on-demand varnish jetting system can produce raised visual and tactile effects, including high-build finishes and Braille marking, without the screens required for conventional flatbed screen printing. The system can operate independently or inline with the MA 350+ finishing and embellishment machine, giving converters a flexible way to customize products and switch quickly between jobs. Featuring two rows of XAAR printheads, each comprising five units, it combines uniform ink application with the precision needed to consistently reproduce premium finishes.

For converters looking to integrate multiple finishing stages, the BOSS provides a fully servo-driven, modular platform for single-pass label converting. Its configuration can combine web control, semi-rotary die-cutting, inspection, slitting and rewinding according to the requirements of each application. A quick-load die-cutting system helps accelerate job changeovers, while its modular architecture makes it easy to add customized automation and integration options as customers’ production needs evolve.

At the show, the BOSS will be configured with two die-cutting units and will operate alongside the GTU-26, a glueless automatic turret rewinder developed to produce finished label rolls. Rather than using additional adhesive when rewinding begins, the GTU-26 employs a controlled transverse cut that helps protect the label’s printed surface. Its four-shaft, servo-driven turret, closed-loop tension control and speeds of up to 820 feet per minute support consistent roll production in both inline and standalone configurations. Compatibility with a wide variety of substrates, together with an option for linerless applications, further expands its range of uses.

The third demonstration will focus on the RDX RFID Inserter. This compact, standalone system inserts, programs, verifies and edits RFID inlays in a single pass while also offering slitting capabilities. Its vacuum placement system achieves positioning accuracy of ±1 mm, while real-time validation checks both the antenna and the integrated circuit. When RFID job volumes are lower, the machine can continue delivering value as a slitter-rewinder. This versatility gives converters a practical way to enter or expand smart label production without dedicating floor space to a single-purpose machine.

Connected inspection and converting at booth 637

LemuGroup’s show experience will continue at BST North America’s booth 637, where the I-MAX will operate alongside BST inspection technology. The live collaboration will demonstrate how inspection and converting can form a connected workflow: the web is inspected, defects are identified, and the I-MAX stops precisely at the detected location, allowing the operator to address the issue before continuing with controlled rewinding and finishing.

The I-MAX is a modular, semi-automatic slitter-rewinder designed for offline inspection and capable of growing with a converter’s needs. It supports web widths of 14, 17, 22.5, and 26 inches and reaches speeds of up to 1,800 feet per minute. Its touchscreen HMI allows jobs to be stored, while available options include dual rewinding, automatic slitting-knife positioning, RFID functions, camera integration and a semi-automatic turret. By coordinating defect detection with roll finishing, the demonstration will highlight a direct path toward more reliable quality control and fewer avoidable interruptions.

Automation & Flexibility

The LemuGroup solutions on display at both booths incorporate varying levels of automation to optimize production processes. Faster equipment alone does not resolve the everyday pressures faced by converters. Productivity also depends on reducing setup times, maintaining tension and registration, simplifying operator decisions, controlling defects and being prepared to handle a wider variety of applications. LemuGroup’s approach combines mechanical engineering, digital process control and end-of-line automation in solutions that can be configured for each customer’s production environment.

The demonstrations will also reflect the value of collaboration within the label production ecosystem. BST North America is the integration partner for the I-MAX inspection demonstration. Other suppliers are supporting the show program with materials, preprinted mother rolls, RFID inlays and direct thermal label stock. These contributions place the machinery in the context that matters most: working with real materials and applications that visitors can evaluate at the show itself.

Behind the technology is an industrial group with more than 60 years of experience in paper converting. LemuGroup operates five manufacturing facilities, including its first U.S. production plant, established through CEI in Montana and employs more than 240 professionals. With 98% of its production exported and 10% of its revenue invested in research and development, the Group combines international reach with technical and commercial support throughout the Americas.

A two-booth experience for LOUPE Americas visitors

Visitors can begin their tour at LemuGroup’s booth 628, where they will see live solutions for different segments of the label market: digital varnishing and special finishes with the MI 350 Inkjet Digital; die-cutting, single-pass finishing and automatic rewinding with the BOSS and GTU-26; and RFID inlay insertion, programming and validation with the RDX. At booth 637, the I-MAX demonstration alongside the BST inspection system will complete LemuGroup’s technology offering for the show.

LOUPE Americas 2026 will give converters the opportunity to discover LemuGroup’s ability to address a broad range of production requirements. From premium and press-sensitive labels to RFID-enabled smart labels, the company will showcase live solutions developed to improve efficiency, flexibility, automation and quality control. Meetings and personalized demonstrations can be scheduled in advance at fairexhibit.com.
